The latest non-profit partnership is a sweet success story. The pastry chef at Del Lago Resort & Casino used fresh apples from the Ithaca Farmer's Market to create special handmade caramel apple macarons for sale at the 35th Annual Apple Harvest Festival in downtown Ithaca. All proceeds from the macaroon sale supported the Health Food (HFFA), a non-profit partnership between local farms and Tompkins County's cooperative expansion, to help families with limited incomes access to fresh produce. Del Lago willingly delivered $2,224 to the HFFA.


Since 2006, the HFFA has been making low-income families access fresh and high-quality agricultural products through community supported agricultural (CSA) sharing and educational resources. Now ending nearly 200 families of nutritional starvation, the HFFA is recognized as one of the leading community food security programs in the region.
